TRUST & SAFETY

Copyright Policy

Effective September 17, 2026

Thrift Bounty respects intellectual-property rights. Users may upload only content they own, have permission to use, or are otherwise legally allowed to share. If you believe content on Thrift Bounty infringes your copyright, send a notice to copyright@thriftbounty.app.

What to include in a copyright notice

Your written notice should include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you believe was infringed.
  • Identification and location of the allegedly infringing material, preferably the Thrift Bounty URL and the relevant username or bounty title.
  • Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.

We may send a copy of the notice to the user who posted the material.

What happens after a notice

We will review sufficiently complete notices and may remove or restrict access to the material while the matter is evaluated. We may notify the uploader and record the action for enforcement of our repeat-infringer policy. Incomplete or fraudulent notices may delay our response and may create legal liability.

Counter-notification

If your content was removed because of a copyright notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, email a counter-notification to copyright@thriftbounty.app. It should include your signature; identification of the removed material and its former location; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and telephone number; and the consent and service-of-process statements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g).

Because a counter-notification has legal consequences and may require us to disclose it to the original complainant, consider obtaining legal advice before submitting one.

Repeat infringement

In appropriate circumstances, Thrift Bounty may suspend or terminate users who repeatedly infringe intellectual-property rights. We may also act on a single serious or clearly unlawful violation.

Other intellectual-property concerns

For trademark, counterfeit, impersonation, or other rights concerns, use the in-app reporting tool or email copyright@thriftbounty.app with enough information for us to locate and evaluate the material.
